12/03/07 Added a page to the website about receiving Inner Healing from God. To find it, click on the button at the top of the page for the Heart-training, then scroll down and click the green button on the right (bottom of the list) for inner healing.
Update about what is happening with me: Sadly, I am still having to focus on work and don't have extra time to be able to give to the website or the writing. Ministry is still happening but on a very small scale and I long for the day when the business is able to support my wife and I and also provide extra so that I can focus more on ministry things again.
10/29/05 Made important updates to the spiritual exercises in the Heart-training book. Also made a update to the section in the last chapter of the Come and Drink book called "Abide Beyond the Arrows of the Enemy."
1/11/05 In the back of the Heart-training I added a spiritual exercise for sanctification (letting God make you holy). Wow is it powerful! It is a simple reapplication of the exercise for receiving inner healing. I am particularly excited about this because of this verse: "And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever" (Ezek. 37:38). Enjoy it and lets pray that the nations will know because God sanctifies us and because we are abiding in His "sanctuary" here!
1/11/05 Wow it has been a while since I wrote any thing here. I have added several things to the website and to the ebooks but just haven't written about it in this section. I will try to keep you informed better.
1/07/04 Updated the section in the Heart-training book called, "Who We Are IN Christ."
12/22/03 Added to the website the section from the ebooks called, "Abide Beyond the Arrows of the Devil." I felt that this was too important for the web-surfers not to get it. I also added some comments about how to feel the presence of God. Both of these additions are on the page called, "Our Access to Draw Near" that is in the main "Come and Drink" section on the website. Go to the Come and Drink section and then look for Our Access on the buttons on the right of the page.
10/18/03 Just went through an extended time where nothing was working - not even abiding before the Lord. It was horrible but I have learned what the problem was and have wrote honestly about it in book2 - How to Direct Your Heart Toward God. It is at the end of the chapter titled, "What to Do About Reoccurring Sin." The solution had to do with my understanding and faith about the access we have into the throne room. It was a very difficult time but I am thankful to be through it. Also rewrote and rearranged chapters 10 and 11. The only major change was what I wrote about above. The new section in Chapter 11 is titled, "Abide Beyond the Arrows of the Devil." Also added this section to the Come and Drink book in the last chapter.
9/14/03 Updated the chapter in book1 about Self-Esteem. To that chapter I added a very important caution about current who we are in Christ teaching. See book 1 or on the website see "Problems to Avoid" under the "Heart-training Home" section.
9/11/03 Added a clarification to the website about seeing in the spirit. It is in the What about Shame section under the one titled "God Dissolves Shame." Several of us have started seeing in the Spirit. Some of that includes seeing flashes of light or a cloud of God's presence - like in the Old Testament. Very cool.
7/17/03 Added a page to the Heart-training for "Letting God Give Us a New Heart." I have been using this almost everyday for about a month now. It is very powerful. I feel myself changing and getting stronger every time I use it. Basically you apply the exercise in Appendix A of the Heart-training for opening up to God and receiving inner healing from Him. Then you do the statements while letting God reach in and work into you based on several of the promises listed from scripture. Very Powerful!
7/16/03 Added to the website a short statement about "Causes and Cures" of why we do what we do. It is on the "In Conclusion" page in the "What About Shame" Section -- basically it is the last page of this website.
7/03 Currently writing a book for Christians to use as a study guide with unbelievers. One of the guys I am mentoring wants to help me with the layout and design. Cool! I hope to have it ready to publish some time this fall.
2/26/03 Realized that with all the Heart-training about receiving God's presence there wasn't any H-t about what and whom we are receiving--what and whom we are releasing. This section is being very helpful for relating better to the person of Christ and the person Holy Spirit. It is also excellent for building faith about miracles and healings!
2/1/03 Updated the section in the Heart-training about loving God to reflect recent changes to the diagram about God. This change has resulted in more intimacy with the person of the Holy Spirit than any change I have ever made. Very cool!
11/11/02 Added Spiritual Exercises to an Appendix in the back of Come and Drink. Added one new exercise to both the H-t and the C & D books. Added statements from the H-t section about who we are in Christ to the security, reassurance, and the protection sections in the Heart-training.
8/5/02: Heart-training -- added a section for ministry and the miraculous. Also added two appendixes--one has exercises for the development of spiritual skills like entering and drinking from God--these are things I teach one-on-one but that have never before been compiled in written form--very important information.
7/5/02: Heart-training -- added a major section starting on p.159 about Who We Are in Christ.
4/3/02: Small group book -- added lots more questions for small groups. Still some reorganization needs to happen. The last few lessons are out of place--good stuff but they belong somewhere else. 261 pages. Have fun. : )
9/01: Small group book -- I am currently working on many changes to the workbook as we are going to be video taping our class this year -- only video taped the first quarter because we do lots of discussion after that and video taping is difficult.
8/30/01: Heart-training -- increased the "Ways of Loving God" to a two page section with diagrams that is close to what we use in the small groups. Made many other changes to try to focus even more on increasing our love for God. Added a section about believing God's will and call on us for our life's work.
6/22/01: Heart-training -- too many small changes to mention. Decreased the length of section titles. Added a page to help people who have been deeply hurt so they can change their misbeliefs about God. Added a page about how to let God work in you to heal painful experiences in the past. Added a section about repentance from making ministry our god. Make special note of the single page addition toward the back called, "Ways of Loving God."
5/25/01: Added many verses to Adequacy section. Re-wrote the section about believing we can change -- the sentences were too long.
4/23/01 - Have been very busy with small group stuff and my job at Hp. The FORUM is ready. Please join us! TasteHeavenNow.net/forum
10/10/00 - The WorkBook for small groups and discipleship is available on the Books and Materials page. I am adding lessons to this book each week -- because of my own small group.
10/10/00 - Updated the Heart-training book. It is up from 126 pages to 150. Added a section called "From Pressure to Perform to Faith in God’s Grace;" I am excited about this one because it is for people who want the presence of God badly but who tend to get almost thrown into a works mode by Christians around them that they love and want to support. I added a section called, "No Vacations with God;" I added this because there have been so many manifestations of God's presence that people are tending to turn from feeding on God and are trying to feed on the manifestation -- the result is spiritual pride and a tendency to go on vacation from God. I also added an 8 page section called, "Works to grace for woman;" I did this one because I find that many woman struggle to believe the grace of God even more than men. I believe one of the main reasons for this is because the expectations we men tend to put on woman cause them to feel like they constantly have to perform for relationship with us and with God -- very sad but true. I also added sections in the Heart-training for anorexia, bulimia, and self-mutilation. These problems have to be addressed and the heart-training is an effective way to do it. The Heart-training book is available on the Books and Materials page.
9/2600 - Many wonderful things are happening among college students in our church! Several have entered the throne room for the first time and are experiencing God's presence intensely and by His grace. I have been very busy. I am still working a full time job and need more time for ministry. I feel it is time to have to start charging for the books. I have had over 34,000 hits to the site without charging anything for downloading the books. It is time.
8/30/00 - Book one - "Understanding Yourself and Your Need for God" has gone from 87 to 103 pages. Added sections about anorexia and bulimia. Added one more entire chapter.
7/5/00 - Added a section about how we tend to go on vacation from pursuing God whenever we learn some big new insight about spiritual things. This section explains the cause and what to do about it. Thanks Frank for your question and your alertness to this important growth killing problem.
6/5/00 - Chapter 8 in book 2 is done but now there are two more new ones after that that still need work.
Also added a short section about pornography on the web page about lust. Click here to read it.
6/13/00 - Added to the Come and Drink! book a brief personal history about my experience with "pressing in" and why I apply this principle today by leaning back into Him. As of 6/26/00 even more of this is included in book 2.
6/26/00 - Posted a newer version of book 2. How to Direct Your Heart to God is now 130 pages -- up from 117. Most of the additions are to the second half of the book. The book still has a few sections that aren't complete but I feel a lot better about it now than before. I finally got to some of the main sections that I knew still needed to be added.
7/2/00 - Added "The Most Common Mistake" to the Heart-training! book.
5/23/00 - Added a section to the page about sexual pursuits. It is about the importance of turning your heart away from comparing yourself to determine if you would be enough for them. This is a section of major importance that should have been added a long time ago. I just had a conversation with someone and that reminded me about it. Click here to go there now.
5/22/00 - Made a significant update to the pages in the Heart-training about hearing from God. Made some changes to the How to Repent book but am still not done with Chapter 8. I have been thinking about it but haven't been able to do much writing on it yet.
5/8/00 - I did an update to chapter 8 in Book 2 but it is still not complete. The last 1/3rd of that chapter is still quite rough. I am also working on what will be a big improvement to the Heart-training! material about listening and hearing from God. Look for that in about a week -- possibly sooner.
5/5/00 - Added to the Heart-training index page a link to directions on how to get the acrobat Reader files to work. See note on the left column. Same link is on the Books and Materials page.
4/24/00 - Book 2 is ready for download. The series is now complete! I am still making a few changes to this book but it is more presentable -- and more complete than what you see on the web pages. I should post a more finished version early in May of this year. The next step after that will be to get some professional editing done.
3/17/00 - Updated the page called "Into Everyday Life." Now it includes a section about how to know when your heart is and is not responding to your heart-training. Thanks Karen for your question.
3/15/00 - Updated the section about justification, righteousness, and goodness in book one and on these web.
3/12/00 - Fixed some broken links in the "Fast Track" series of pages. It is still rather long but a subjective guess would be that it is about 1/4 of the total pages on this site. Thanks Jan! Your e-mail helped me get this fixed.
3/8/00 - I want to add a forum to this site in order to help people apply repentance in everyday life. The forum software I like is www.wwwthreads.com It is only $100 but it runs on unix. I have been in contact with my internet provider and they are going to have to charge me "$200-$500" dollars to set it up on their system. I don't have money for that right now - the forum will have to wait. Anybody out there want to help with finances toward this?
I am currently working on materials for small groups and on getting the "How to Repent" material on this site, into book form.
3/01/00 - Added book 1 to the books and materials page. Future plans include a forum on repentance and a devotional book on repentance and turning to God.
Barry.
